We are currently recruiting a committed, compassionate, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Trowbridge. About the Role This role offers the chance to work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia. You'll provide both academic and emotional support, helping to create a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You’ll be supporting students in a variety of ways: through one-to-one work, small group sessions, and within full class settings, always under the guidance of teaching staff and SENCOs. Key Responsibilities Deliver targeted support to students with SEN, adapting your approach to suit individual learning needs Assist in implementing EHCPs and supporting positive behaviour strategies Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver joined-up support Help create a safe, nurturing classroom environment Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to staff Who We’re Looking For Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential) A calm, patient and encouraging presence Strong communication and interpersonal skills A flexible, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs Desirable but not essential: Experience in a secondary school setting Familiarity with support strategies for Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent What We Offer A welcoming and supportive team environment Opportunities for professional development and training A role where you can make a genuine, lasting impact on young lives The chance to grow your career in education and SEN support How to Apply Please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role to: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
