We are looking for AI/GenAI Architects to work in fast‑paced teams with highly talented colleagues.
Your role
As a practitioner in AI & D, you are responsible for delivering AI solution architecture projects. You will lead GenAI projects from conception to production and provide technical pre‑sales support for new opportunities. You will work closely with clients, project managers, solution architects, engineers and data scientists to ensure project goals are met on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of generative AI projects, especially from an architecture perspective, from inception to production.
* Work closely with clients to understand requirements, translating them into actionable project plans and roadmaps.
* Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, engineers and data scientists to ensure tasks are executed and delivered on time and within budget.
* Review and provide feedback on project deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy.
* Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as needed to ensure project success.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to ensure progress is understood and milestones achieved.
* Provide technical pre‑sales support, including participating in client meetings, preparing technical proposals and presenting solutions.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest generative AI technologies, trends and best practices.
Required Experience
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
* Experience leading the delivery of both generative and traditional AI projects across the end‑to‑end SDLC.
* Proven experience leading geographically distributed teams using offshore or nearshore models.
* Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum and Waterfall.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and stakeholders.
* Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in object‑oriented programming languages such as Python, Java or Scala.
* Experience in designing and implementing enterprise data lake architecture for structured and unstructured data using modern data tools such as MS Fabric, Databricks or similar.
* Experience designing real‑time data solutions using streaming ingestion and real‑time analytics (e.g. Confluent, Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink).
* Capability to assess existing platform architecture and identify the to‑be landscape.
* Subject‑matter expertise in translating architectural designs into efficient and maintainable data pipelines on cloud platforms.
* Experience working in agile delivery teams with DevOps practices, continuous deployment, Git, Jira, Confluence or similar.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with technology vendors and community of practice activities.
* Developing thought‑leadership content on data design, architecture and engineering.
* Knowledge of generative AI architectural patterns, including RAG and fine‑tuning.
* Experience training and deploying machine learning models using classification, regression, neural networks, etc.
* Experience deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
* Understanding of RESTful API design for generative AI applications.
* Familiarity with web development technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.
* Proficiency in database management systems and SQL.
* Experience developing ETL pipelines using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
* Knowledge of data architecture and data modelling techniques.
* Experience with modern data & AI platforms such as Databricks, Dataiku, DataRobot.
* Knowledge of containerisation platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
* Familiarity with software development tools, e.g. Jira, Confluence, Git.
Hybrid Working Policy
You will be based in Manchester with hybrid working. Depending on the role requirements, you may work in the local office, virtual collaboration spaces, client sites and remotely, with face‑to‑face meetings as needed.
