Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Supervisor to join our Facilities Team at Monkwearmouth Hospital.
This post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday 7.5hrs per day on a 3‑week rota alongside current supervisors.
Pay: Band B (£15.13 per hour) with a 25% enhancement for work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Main Duties
* Responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of a team of Soft FM staff.
* Provide advice and support to all wards and departments on an identified site, working with ward and departmental managers to ensure an effective Soft FM service is delivered.
* Support Assistant and Site Manager with team briefs.
* Maintain effective, efficient lines of communication and good relationships within the department and with all other service users.
* Provide and receive information to manage own job and communicate with all aspects of hygiene and cleanliness.
* Liaise with other Supervisors within the company.
* May be expected to supervise other areas of facilities.

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role.
Experience
* Experience working with a wide range of staff and service users.
* Experience supervising staff in a cleaning, facilities or similar environment.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, manual handling and risk assessments.
* Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and hygiene standards.
* Ability to lead and support a team effectively.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to organise workloads and prioritise tasks.
* Basic IT skills for records and communication.
* Awareness of NHS policies and procedures.
Education and Qualifications
* No formal qualifications required.
* Health and Safety qualification preferred.
