About the Team:

Our Family and Adolescent Team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced leader who is passionate about working with adolescents facing risks outside of their homes, including exploitation, missing, peer and contextual risks.

About the Role:

We are recruiting a Team Manager for our Family and Adolescent Team (South) on a permanent basis.

As Team Manager you will provide leadership, direction and oversight to a multi‑disciplinary team working with adolescents and families experiencing extra‑familial harm and complex contextual risks.

Key responsibilities include:

5. Providing strong, consistent leadership and management oversight to social workers and practitioners, ensuring high‑quality, child‑centred and relationship‑based practice
6. Driving a contextual safeguarding approach for adolescents experiencing exploitation, missing episodes, peer harm and risk beyond the family home
7. Ensuring robust supervision, performance management and professional development for staff
8. Leading effective multi‑agency working across Police, Health, Education and community partners
9. Supporting the implementation of the Families First model within a locality‑based framework

Key Requirements:

10. A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
11. Proven experience of managing or supervising social work staff
12. Experience of working with adolescents and complex safeguarding, including contextual and extra‑familial harm (or transferable leadership experience)
13. Ability to work flexibly across the locality, including travel within the county
14. Willingness to participate in occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend work, in line with service demands

Market Supplement:

Up to £60,583 per annum (Includes a £3,500 pro-rated annual market supplement which is subject to pension, tax and NI deductions Ts&Cs apply).

This role requires employees to undergo Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV). This process ensures that individuals who are not police staff but have physical or remote access to police premises, information, intelligence, financial, or operational assets are assessed for their reliability and integrity. This assessment determines their suitability for clearance to work within police premises.
