Staff Nurse - Assisted Conception Service
Join to apply for the Staff Nurse - Assisted Conception Service role at NHS Scotland. The Assisted Conception Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary seeks a motivated and dynamic staff nurse to deliver high quality nursing care to patients receiving Assisted Conception Techniques, Gamete storage and Pre Genetic Diagnosis within the Acute Division of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
The unit provides care across professional boundaries within the West of Scotland NHS structure to ensure seamless care for patients accessing the above services.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional nursing care in all aspects of clinical nursing practice and in the care of people undergoing Assisted Conception Procedures, Gamete storage and Pre Genetic Diagnosis.
* Take patient history, perform clinical assessments, support diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
* Demonstrate clinical decision making, expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, and apply critical thinking in clinical decision making.
* Act within professional boundaries as a registered nurse and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
* Current Registered Nurse with the NMC and holding current full professional registration (essential for shortlisting).
* Experience in Assisted Conception Services is desirable; not suitable for newly qualified nurses.
* Membership of Disclosure Scotland’s PVG Scheme is required.
* Live NMC UK pin is required to be considered for this post.
Employment details
* Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months.
* Shift pattern: Between Monday and Sunday, 7.5 hours or 11.5 hours per shift.
* Location: Glasgow Royal Infirmary, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
