This is a unique opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a non-treatment setting, delivering thorough and impartial functional assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) programme. Role Summary In this role as a Functional Specialist, you will: Manage a varied caseload from initial assessment through to completion. Conduct a mix of in-person, video, and telephone assessments. Carry out initial review calls, paper-based evidence reviews, and detailed functional evaluations. Assess a broad range of health conditions, including physical, sensory, mental health, intellectual, and cognitive impairments. Utilise allocated non-assessment time for CPD, case reviews, audit updates, evidence gathering, and team collaboration. What We’re Looking For Qualified Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Paramedic. At least 12 months’ post-registration experience. Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions. Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to assess across a range of conditions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confident IT user with the ability to work across multiple systems.
