1 to 1 TA, Positive Male Role Model
Location: BS4, Bristol
A warm and welcoming primary school in BS4, Bristol is looking for a 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant who can act as a strong, positive male role model for a child with a background of trauma. The role starts in January.
The school is supportive and nurturing, and is looking for someone who is calm, patient and able to build a trusting relationship while providing consistent emotional and learning support.
The Role
- Full time 1 to 1 support for a primary aged pupil
- Provide a strong male role model and help the child feel safe and secure in school
- Support emotional regulation and use calm, consistent approaches
- Follow support plans and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Help the child access learning in class and through tailored activities
- Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Contribute to observations and feedback on progress and wellbeing
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, trauma or social, emotional and mental health needs
- A calm, kind, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with staff and families
- Team Teach trained, or willing to attend our Team Teach course in February half term
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
