Job Description:

Job purpose

We are seeking a motivated and charismatic individual to join our admissions team on a full-time basis. This role will primarily focus on student recruitment, particularly engaging with prospective students from countries in Africa and the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have sales experience, be willing to travel to African and Middle Eastern countries on a regular basis, and be fluent in Arabic, with fluency in other languages being desirable.

Beyond recruitment, this role involves maintaining strong relationships with the students you have recruited, as well as their families, once they join Ashbourne. The successful candidate will help ensure a consistent cohort of 25 students from Africa and the Middle East at the college while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.

About Ashbourne

Established over 40 years ago, Ashbourne has become one of the best private colleges for A levels in the UK. It distinguishes itself through exam results, individual attention, and excellent facilities, aiming to be the top college overall for A levels in the UK.

Ethos and culture

At Ashbourne, there are no uniforms, no assemblies, no school dinners, and the relations between teachers and students are informal, vital, and strong. Small classes promote engagement and close relationships. The college is selective and reserves the right to deny progression to Year 13 if academic standards are not met. All students are expected to work hard and aim high, with a '100%' homework submission rule and a shared ethos of excellence.

About the College

Sixth form college – Most students pursue two-year A level courses, seeking a more mature, responsible approach to education, with greater freedom and responsibility. The college offers an informal environment with close teacher-student relationships, differing from traditional school settings.

Academic performance – Consistently ranked first or second among private colleges in London, and in the top 5% of schools and colleges by value-added metrics.

Individual attention – Small class sizes and personal tutors support tailored academic and personal development. Tutors monitor progress and liaise with students and parents.

Welfare – The college offers support services and enforces strict policies against bad behavior, bullying, and abuse, ensuring a safe environment.

Location – Near Kensington Gardens, within easy reach of London's cultural attractions.

Ashbourne community – Diverse, with 70% British and up to 50 nationalities, offering a wide range of subjects from arts and performing arts to sciences and humanities.

Academic opportunities – A broad curriculum including arts, design, classics, history, economics, maths, and sciences, catering to diverse talents and ambitions.

Extra-curricular opportunities – Activities like Model United Nations, astrophysics, and the Ashbourne Revue in dance, drama, music, and fashion.

Intensive courses – Two-year A levels, with options for one-year intensive and 18-month courses starting in January for GCSE and A level students.

Scholarships – Generous programs supporting outstanding students, especially in music and drama.

Happiness – Supportive community with no cliques or snobbery, fostering a sense of belonging.
