The closing date is 12 May 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly motivated and resourceful person with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our team as Band 7 Practice Educator Radiographer. You will work alongside the X-ray superintendent and other staff members to provide an effective and efficient service whilst adhering to departmental protocols and ensuring optimum patient care.

This is an exciting time to join the X-ray department at RNOH. We have recently opened a new extension to the X-ray department with an EOS, Hi‑Rise Ped CT and DEXA machines. You will have the opportunity to work on all modalities with training given where needed.

The post offers an excellent opportunity for a hardworking, experienced radiographer who would like to develop managerial, teaching, mentoring, coaching and clinical skills in cutting‑edge orthopaedic imaging.

Main duties of the job

The position will be based within the X-ray departments at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. However, flexibility to work at our Bolsover Street location may occasionally be required as needed. The department runs an extended day, 6 day a week service, Monday to Saturday with on‑call responsibility for out of hours.

You will work closely with other members of the team including radiologists, radiographers and assistants. You will be involved in the teaching and mentoring of students and junior members of staff to oversee staff competencies and CPD.

You will be an integral part of the smooth running of the department and communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and patient groups.

You will be expected to manage your workload effectively, applying knowledge and skill to produce high quality images and adapt techniques to meet complex patient requirements and also to maintain excellent housekeeping of all imaging in X‑ray on the Trusts PACS and EPIC systems.
