Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN) is excited to advertise a Band 3, Therapy Assistant post to support the development of rehabilitation services at the highly regarded Neurorehabilitation unit in Stockport.
The unit provides specialist, intensive and tailored rehabilitation to patients who have experienced acute neurological injury or illness.
This service has recently transfered to the NCA as part of the transformation of in-patient Neurorehabilitation services across Greater Manchester.
Its an exciting time to join a developing service.
The post holder will join an established Therapy Assistant team who support multi-disciplinary aspects of rehabilitation under the direct supervision of our Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language therapy colleagues.
The successful candidate will be well supported by the wider MDT and have ongoing access to relevant training and development opportunities.
To assist in the delivery of high quality, evidenced based neurorehabilitation to the caseload of the Devonshire Unit by supporting individualised programs set by the therapy team.
To support patients to progress with rehabilitation goals through; supported education, 1:1 sessions, groups (function, therapeutic and diversional) and community outreach activities supporting discharge planning.
To promote a 24-hour rehabilitation approach on the unit through joint working with the MDT and a supportive rehabilitation environment.
