Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with a range of mental health problems. There is a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists.
The hospital offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 60 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services, including separate facilities for young people.
We provide expert treatment for the following services:
1. Eating disorders
2. Child and Adolescent Mental Health
3. Addiction services
Our highly experienced multidisciplinary team deliver personalised treatment programmes alongside the use of a wide range of therapies.
Job Advert Role Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed, enthusiastic and motivated Private CAMHS Ward Manager for our 11 bedded ward for young people aged between 13 and 18 years at the Priory Hospital Chelmsford.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

* Provide the highest standard of nursing care & be a role model to junior staff
* Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the ward & ensure co-operation between clinical departments
* Implement clinical & administrative policies, procedures & regulations
* Ensure compliance by others of policies, procedures & regulations
* Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings & development of evidence/ research-based practice
* Participate in the managers on-call system to provide the first point of contact for ward-based staff, outside of normal working hours
* Lead by example to ensure consistently high standards of clinical care & documentation
* An experienced RMN/RNLD with a current Pin Number
* Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
* Familiar with in an inpatient setting in CAMHS
* Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
* Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
* Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
* Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & the latest nursing practices
* Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk
* An understanding of the needs of the young person and their families and carers. Providing support to the Charge Nurses, junior staff and the multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be a registered RMN with strong and proven leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will be a forward-thinking manager, who will lead staff by example; good communication skills, friendly, dynamic, enthusiastic and a team approach to ward working are essential qualities.
Applicants must also have a proven track record of effective nurse leadership and also have a minimum of 3 years senior nurse experience.
