Our client, a leading name in food production is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Manager at their site in Essex.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of the internal systems to meet third party requirements in line with the BRC Global Food Standard (issue 9).
• Achieve BRC accreditation within a six-month period.
• Take the lead with any BRC or external audit.
• Ensure supplier specifications, nominated line forms, technical information and specifications are available and updated on relevant customer databases.
• Working closely with microbiology department to monitor results and aid in implementation of policies.
• Manage nutritional information and nutrition queries, make sure they are in line with legislation.
• Provide legal information for food labelling ensuring that all packaging meets required labelling regulations.
• Lead the HACCP team and ensure the HACCP plan is followed through documented procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant third-party associates.
• Coordinate internal and third-party audit programme to ensure that any corrective actions are implemented.
• Work closely with Marketing and Sales department to provide legal information for food labelling and specifications to ensure that all packaging meets required labelling regulations
• Attend the management meetings with different line managers across the organisation.
• Proactively work with other areas of the business to develop a positive workplace culture.
• Challenging unsafe behaviours and recognising areas of improvement.
• Develop, coach, and monitor the performance of team members.
Key Requirements:
· Experience of working in the food industry, ideally within frozen food sector.
· Strong strategic leadership skills, including strong communication, engagement and motivation skills to drive continuous improvement.
· Extensive practical experience in leading a team with a BRCGS audit.
· Extensive practical experience with HACCP.
· Understanding of Good Hygiene working practices
