Overview
Claims Specialist - Wholesale Professional Indemnity - Design & Construction & PI. You are an experienced PI Claims professional ideally with knowledge of London Market claims processes and procedures. Join a claims team that handles PI design and construction claims on behalf of some of the world's most recognised Professional Services Groups. This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work virtually and from our Chelmsford office.
What you\'ll do
In this exciting role, you will be primarily responsible for the management, strategy and process for the notification, agreement, collection and successful settlement of a portfolio of Financial Lines claims. Your key responsibilities will include:
* First notification of loss for Design and Construction PI claims
* Negotiation and liaison with markets, clients, placement teams, specialists, network offices, underwriters and appointed authorities (loss adjusters, lawyers, etc.)
* Conduct data analysis to establish the claims history for a client or portfolio, and identify trends and patterns
* Negotiate payment and settlement of claims with clients and underwriters
* Coordinate discussions and meetings to ensure effective communication between client, underwriter and representatives regarding proposed settlements
* Engage with the Head of Professional Lines Advocacy to strategise and conclude contentious claims
* Daily use of ECF with market and client facing claims advocacy
* Work as part of the team and autonomously
* Office attendance minimum two days per week
* Opportunity to work on other PI lines of business, including Architects, Engineers, Brokers E&O, and law firms

Skills and experience that will lead to success
* Detailed experience in handling claims for national and international design and construction firms, including architects and engineers, sub-contractors, etc.
* Client and market facing requirements and ability to organise, participate in person and in team meetings
* Experience interacting with senior client stakeholders and risk managers is advantageous
* Handling single project specific, annual and binding facility placements
* Knowledge of Professional Indemnity Claims and ability to coordinate discussions with networks, clients, underwriters and experts
* Experience with the CLASS and ECF Processing system (preferable)
* Proficient in Word and Excel
* Strong interpersonal skills
