Contract type: Apprentice

Location: High Wycombe (Stadium & Training Ground) with occasional travel to Harlington (Academy Training Ground)
Hours: Full-Time (including occasional evening/weekend work on matchdays)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Apprenticeship (typically 16 months) with the possibility of a permanent role at the end of the Apprenticeship
Reports To: HR Manager
Training Provided: CIPD Level 3 (HR Support) Apprenticeship

We are committed to developing talent both on and off the pitch and are looking for a motivated HR Apprentice to join our team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about people, football, and starting a career in HR.


Role Overview

As an HR Apprentice, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the club’s HR function — working with departments across football operations, academy, commercial, and stadium teams. You'll gain hands-on HR experience while studying toward your CIPD qualification.


Key Responsibilities

* Support the administration of the employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, changes, and leavers.
* Assist with maintaining accurate HR records.
* Help with recruitment processes: posting jobs, screening CVs, coordinating interviews.
* Prepare offer letters, contracts, and induction packs for new staff.
* Support safeguarding and compliance processes (e.g., DBS checks, training records).
* Update HR systems and databases (e.g. absence tracking, holiday records).
* Assist with payroll processing.
* Respond to routine HR queries.
* Participate in HR projects, including wellbeing, equality, diversity & inclusion, and training initiatives.


Person Specification

Essential:

* Strong interest in starting a career in Human Resources.
* Enthusiastic and proactive with excellent organisational skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
* Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
* Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings/weekends.

Desirable:

* Interest in football or sports industry.
* Experience in an admin or customer service role.
