Job overview

Join a dynamic, innovative team driving excellence in virtual healthcare!

You will work closely with the consultant microbiologists and consultant antimicrobial pharmacist, acute physicians, specialist nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred therapy.

You will be a GPhC-registered pharmacist with strong clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for clinical pharmacy. Prior experience in antimicrobial pharmacy is desirable but not essential—you just need the drive to develop in this area.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for delivering the defined service Key Performance Indicators and include close working with other Lead or Specialist Pharmacists.

Clinically validate prescriptions medication according to Trust protocols and locally agreed standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Clinical Diploma
2. GphC registration
3. Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy degree
4. Independent prescriber

Desirable criteria

5. Clinical Diploma tutor/Educational Supervisor
6. Management courses
7. Train the trainer qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

8. Evidence of specialist practitioner practice
9. Policy and service development
10. Experience in supervising and training staff

Desirable criteria

11. Experience in delivering E&T to various health care professionals
12. Experience as Clinical Diploma Educational Supervisor
13. Staff line management experience

Skills

Essential criteria

14. Good written & verbal skills
15. Ability to influence other professionals & communicate at consultant level
16. Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines

Desirable criteria

17. Ability to lead & implement directorate service strategies
18. Enthusiastic about development of pharmacy services
19. Team player

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
