About The Role
If you love meeting new people and want to support those affected by dementia in your area, this volunteer role might be perfect for you!
As a Group Support Volunteer, you'll support and encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise in a group setting. You'll be a friendly face, welcoming attendees, engaging in conversation, and helping them feel comfortable. Additionally, you'll assist with serving refreshments and setting up or tidying the venue.
Your involvement will help people affected by dementia connect with others, access support and information, and enjoy meaningful activities.
Support Volunteer for Alzheimer's Society Café Memoir
Location: Whessoe Parish Hall, DL1 3AA
Schedule: Second Monday of the month, 1:15 PM to 3:15 PM
Responsibilities: Welcome and chat with attendees, serve refreshments, and facilitate activities like arts & crafts, board games, music, and singing.

* Have good verbal communication and listening skills
* Enjoy meeting new people and working as part of a team
* Are aware of or willing to learn about dementia and its impact
* Can demonstrate empathy and compassion
* Are over 16 years old
