About the Role:
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our teaching staff and ensuring the smooth running of practical science lessons. You will be responsible for:
* Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals, and materials for laboratory lessons.
* Assisting teachers and students during experiments, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
* Maintaining and organising the science laboratories, including equipment management and stock control.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
* Supporting the department with administrative duties as required.
About You:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with a passion for science. Ideally, you will have:
* Previous experience working as a Science Technician or a similar role (though full training can be provided).
* A strong understanding of the scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and a practical knowledge of lab procedures.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
* A commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for students.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., A-levels in Science or equivalent; a degree in a scientific subject is desirable).
