We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 9 autistic pupil in a supportive secondary school setting in Leyland.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the student access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 9 student with Autism
* Support engagement with lessons and classroom activities
* Implement strategies to manage communication, sensory, and emotional needs
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers
* Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential
* Experience supporting autistic students is highly desirable
* Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
