We have an opportunity for a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join LPT's eating disorder services. This will be a split role, across both CAMHS and Adult Eating Disorder teams. The teams are based at Mawson House (CAMHS) and at the Glenfield Hospital Site (AED). This is a new split post across both services and is an exciting opportunity for developing and improving the pathway between the two services, alongside gaining clinical experience and expertise across the lifespan. This post is full-time and substantive.
The CAMHS eating disorder team provides specialist assessment and treatment for young people and their families up until the age of 18 years, presenting with Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder and ARFID. The Adult Eating Disorder Service provides outpatient and inpatient services, a day patient service, alongside the FREED pathway for 16-25 year olds.
We are two diverse multi disciplinary teams, with an established psychology structure including qualified psychologists, a clinical associate psychologist and assistant psychologists. There are multiple opportunities for training and development, and you will be provided with a robust induction programme, with relevant in-house training to equip you to provide first line treatment. In addition to offering direct treatment for eating disorders you will also have opportunities to provide other psychological intervention to address comorbidities such as low mood, anxiety and trauma- related symptoms, alongside in-direct interventions such as providing supervision and consultation to colleagues within the team.
You will also be part of the wider psychological professions group across CAMHS with good peer support and clinical supervision.
Ideally you will be qualified Clinical Psychologist with current HCPC registration and have experience of working with complex mental health needs in community settings, alongside experience of working with both adults and young people with disordered eating/ eating disorders, although this is not essential.
We would also welcome applications within candidates in the final year of their doctoral training.
Main duties of the job
The team currently consists of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, family therapy (CAMHS) child and adolescent psychotherapy (CAMHS), dietetic and occupational therapy staff who work closely with outpatient, inpatient and adult services.
Within the core team we offer early specialist assessment and intervention using evidence-based approaches to young people up to the age of 18 years old and their families.
The Role includes:
* Providing first line treatment for Eating Disorders as per NICE guidelines, including systemic and 1:1 therapeutic modalities.
* Providing specialised psychological interventions such as DBT and CBT informed work
* Offering psychological advice, consultation, supervision and training to members of the MDT.
The Successful Candidate will:
* Have the qualifications and experience as highlighted in the Person Specification.
* Have knowledge and expertise in child and adolescent mental health and the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and common co-morbidities.
* Preferably have experience in working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and a well-developed understanding of how such conditions may interact with eating disorders.
* Be interested in developing knowledge and skills in this specialist area alongside furthering your interest in providing consultation and supervision to a range of professionals within the MDT.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)
* To provide a high quality Clinical psychology Service to the service area. The post involves providing psychological assessment and intervention to service users, including families depending on the patient age. Responsibilities include attending MDT meetings, providing liaison, support, consultation and training.
* To provide specialist assessment of eating disorders alongside additional assessment of comorbid difficulties, such as trauma-related symptoms, alongside contributing to the assessment of neruodevelopmental conditions.
* To implement a range of psychological interventions, alongside in-direct intervention such as developing formulations and offering consultation and advice to non-psychology colleagues.
* To provide clinical supervision and to manage the workload of assistant psychologists and psychology students
* To contribute to service development and quality improvement work within the service, including relevant service evaluation work and research
* To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group
