We are currently recruiting for a Parent/Carer Mentor to work in our Youth Justice Team.

This is a fixed term role for a period of 9 months until 31st March 2026. Working part-time up to 22 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and will need to fit around the availability of parents.

(Any successful internal candidate will be offered the position as a secondment and, in line with Section 8.1 of the Secondment Policy, must consult with their manager before applying.)

About the team...

This role sits within our dedicated Youth Justice Team, based in Zone 76 at Priestwood. We are a passionate, multi-disciplinary team working to reduce youth offending and strengthen families facing adversity.

Our team thrives on collaboration, compassion, and innovation, bringing together professionals from across services to create meaningful change.

You will be joining a supportive environment where trauma-informed practice, flexibility, and relationship-building are at the heart of everything we do.

Key responsibilities...

Provide regular, one-to-one mentoring to parents/carers, offering emotional and practical support tailored to their individual needs.
Build trusting relationships with families, using a trauma-informed approach to empower and strengthen their ability to support their child.
Connect parents/carers with relevant services and advocate on their behalf to ensure access to appropriate support.
Maintain high-quality records and use the Focused Diversion Toolkit to monitor progress and report effectively.
Collaborate with multi-agency partners through prevention panels to develop holistic support plans for families.
