Simply Education is working with a specialist independent SEN provision to recruit a compassionate and ambitious Lead Science Teacher to support young people aged 7-19 who may be disengaged from mainstream education. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science teacher ready to step into leadership while continuing to make a real impact in the classroom. You'll help shape an engaging and inclusive Science curriculum that builds confidence, re-engages learners and supports meaningful outcomes. With small groups, personalised learning and a strong focus on relationships, this role offers the chance to teach in a truly impactful way. The Role As Lead Science Teacher, you'll combine classroom teaching with curriculum leadership across specialist learning hubs in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. You'll deliver engaging Science lessons through 1:1 support, small group teaching and vocational settings, while leading curriculum development, teaching quality and subject improvement across the organisation. The role includes dedicated leadership release time, allowing you to support colleagues, maintain high standards and help create outstanding learning experiences. Working closely with school leaders and Learning Managers, you'll ensure teaching is innovative, personalised and responsive to individual needs. What You'll Be Doing Leading and developing an inclusive Science curriculum Delivering high-quality Science teaching in small groups and 1:1 settings Supporting learners with additional needs and barriers to learning Coaching colleagues through CPD and curriculum guidance Monitoring learner progress and supporting targeted interventions Contributing to quality assurance and teaching standards Building positive relationships with learners, families and professionals Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times What We're Looking For You will: Be passionate about inclusive, learner-centred education Have the ability to lead, inspire and support others Bring creativity, adaptability and energy to teaching Value strong relationships as the foundation of learning Want to make a lasting difference to young people's lives Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching Science Strong understanding of Science curriculum design and development Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Ability to travel between learning sites Why Join Us?
