This role is a project manager in Citi’s Futures & OTC Clearing Technology team. The focus is on building and maintaining next‑generation ETD and OTC clearing platforms. The role involves managing complex, multi‑functional projects and leading cross‑geographic initiatives that interface with business, technology, operations and external vendors.
Responsibilities
* Manage a large multi‑faceted project involving multiple functional streams, technology platforms and geographical locations.
* Own project goals leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team.
* Organize new challenges and drive business results.
* Use best practice PMO methodology to create a project plan that fits stakeholder/customers’ needs and delivers within budget on desired outcomes.
* Drive end results of the project as a representative of the business.
* Work closely with the Customer, Technology, Operations and other Project Managers to define a project scope and objectives for project members.
* Prepare, maintain, and submit clear and concise activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports.
* Assess project risk potentials and discover potential problems before they occur.
* Apply a proactive approach in routinely tracking the project participant progress against project goals.
* Define, teach, and enforce the use of good project management practices such as techniques in resolving complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub‑tasks that are documented, monitored and controlled.
* Identify and, where required, amend the approach to the context and constraints of each project.
* Constantly improve own and team skills through lessons‑learned reviews at project completion.
* Have knowledge, skills and experience to recognize when problems surface or potential problems are looming.
* Articulate problems, bring the right people together to solve problems, and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed.
* Promote partner involvement through effectively communicating project status upward and to the business.
* Apply lessons learned from recent projects to future projects.
* Communicate to all concerned parties project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential customer escalation issues.
* Proactively follow escalation and change control processes.
* Own all management reports on a given engagement.
* Promote good working relationships across a project, cultivating the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among all stakeholders.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets.
* Maintain Book of Work and facilitate prioritization discussions with key business stakeholders.
* Develop and publish content for senior management reporting, presentations, town halls, etc.
* Manage relationships with business and take ownership for providing regular project updates to key business and technology stakeholders.
* Understand business priorities and work as a liaison between business and development teams.
* Collate and communicate key project milestones, risks, and achievements.
