John Leggott College is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Mental Health Officer to work within our college community. The right candidate will work as part of our supportive Wellbeing team to support students with challenging mental health difficulties throughout their time at John Leggott College. The role will involve managing a caseload of students and being assigned to individual students providing 1:1 support at the request of the Pastoral and Safeguarding Manager.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies the post holder will support and assist students with complex mental health difficulties, including any practical support that may be required. Having robust communication skills, both written and verbal is key to this role and the maintenance of confidential records.
We are looking to recruit an individual with experience of working with young people in an education setting who has knowledge of the mental health issues that affect them. The post holder would be expected to have good IT skills, an understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures and the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships.
