Overview

We have a unique, part-time opportunity for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to provide vital clinical leadership within our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a specialist who wants to balance hands-on clinical work with the chance to mentor others and influence service development.

You will be the go-to expert for our Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (EDS) pathway, providing specialist supervision and leading the sign-off of competencies for staff across Pennine. Alongside this, you\'ll maintain a rewarding, small caseload in early years feeding, ensuring your clinical skills remain at the forefront.

We offer the flexibility of 0.60WTE (3 days, any days) with a preference for Fridays to support VFSS clinics. If you are a motivated leader passionate about fostering excellence in EDS and early years, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

* Provide clinical leadership and act as a specialist resource for SLT staff undertaking EDS roles across the Pennine region.

* Be responsible for the review, assessment, and formal sign-off of EDS competencies for staff.

* Provide regular, high-quality specialist supervision to EDS staff, fostering their professional growth and ensuring clinical standards.

* Hold and manage a defined, complex caseload within the early years feeding specialism.

* Utilise advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage feeding and swallowing difficulties in young children.

* Actively support the Clinical Lead in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways.

* Contribute to service improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient care and outcomes.

* Maintain professional registration and adhere to HCPC and RCSLT standards of practice.

* Participate in relevant training and development, including VFSS clinics, for which Friday working is beneficial.

Job responsibilities

This position perfectly balances the strategic oversight of staff development with the fulfilment of maintaining a specialist caseload in early years feeding.
