Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Primary School Student, Maldon
Protocol Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a primary school student in Colchester. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young learners and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
About the Role:
You will work closely with a primary school student who has specific learning needs, offering tailored support to help them succeed both academically and socially. The successful candidate will be empathetic, patient, and skilled at building positive relationships to create a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalised one-to-one support for a primary school student with additional needs such as SEN, autism, or physical disabilities.
Assist with classroom activities including lessons, reading, writing, and other tasks.
Encourage the development of social and emotional skills, fostering independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher to ensure consistent support and progress.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the student's unique learning style and requirements.
Monitor and document the student's progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents.
Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Participate in relevant meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting.
Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, or SEN (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification) are advantageous.
Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs is beneficial.
Good understanding of child development and various learning challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with children.
