West Berkshire Council is seeking a Deputy Superintendent Registrar to join our Registration Service, working alongside the Registration Manager to deliver an exceptional registration service to our local community. This is a part-time opportunity with set working days: Wednesday to Friday
About The Role
As a Deputy Superintendent Registrar, you will work within the team to play a key role in supporting the Registration Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Registration Service. Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and statutory obligations
* Conducting registrations of births, deaths, and marriages, ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation
* Issuing certificates and providing information and advice to customers
* Handling enquiries and resolving any issues that may arise
* Conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies as well as citizenship ceremonies
* Deputising for the Registration manager as required
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Experience working as a Registrar, with a thorough understanding of registration processes and legislation
* Knowledge of registration legislation and procedures
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle enquiries and resolve issues effectively
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation
* Professional and approachable manner, with effective communication skills
