Safety Planner - Rail

About the Role Seeking an experienced Rail Planner accustomed to hands-on workingto coordinate track access, safe work packs, and operational planning for rail infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient project delivery, compliance with safety standards, and seamless collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Planning & Operations:
Book and manage track access to align with project deadlines.
Produce and reviewSafe Work Packs (SWPs), ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
Attend planning meetings and action follow-up requirements.
Troubleshoot scheduling anomalies and implement preventive solutions.
Support workflow efficiencies for both site and office teams.
Team & Compliance:
Mentor and support team members, including newly qualified COSS personnel.
Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, promoting a culture of welfare and accountability.
Assist with training initiatives and professional development.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with clients to develop tailored planning solutions.
Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and geospatial teams to resolve access queries.
Promote best practices to deliver "right-first-time" outputs.
Skills & Experience Proven background in a similar Planning role.
Familiarity with Safe Work Packs, task briefs, and Network Rail processes.
Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability to shifting priorities.
Ability to mentor teams and uphold rigorous safety standards.
Desirable: Knowledge of industry software and a valid COSS, ES and / or PC certification.
