We’re looking for an Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of race days and non-race day events at our racecourse. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll be at the heart of venue operations ensuring every event runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.

About the role
The role of the Operations Manager will be based at Worcester Racecourse.
As Operations Manager, you’ll take full ownership of operational planning and delivery across the site. From high-profile race days to conferences, hospitality events, and third-party hires, you’ll ensure the venue is fully prepared, compliant, and welcoming.
You’ll lead all Health & Safety activity, coordinate operational teams, manage budgets, oversee contractors and suppliers, and respond decisively to unexpected challenges while consistently upholding exceptional standards of safety and service.
About you
9. Proven experience managing operations for large-scale events or venues
10. Strong planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities
11. Solid experience with budget management, procurement, and cost control
12. Confident communicator able to liaise with teams, suppliers, and external authorities
13. Experience leading Health & Safety training and compliance
14. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to remain calm under pressure
15. High attention to detail and commitment to excellence
16. Racecourse, sport or leisure background an advantage
