Your Role: Leading and Nurturing Learning
In this capacity as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities will encompass:
* Orchestrating engaging learning sessions, including covering planned teacher absences and providing PPA cover across primary year groups.
* Designing and delivering targeted academic interventions for individuals and small groups, particularly in core subjects like literacy and numeracy.
* Methodically tracking pupil progress, offering detailed feedback to class teachers, and contributing to ongoing assessment processes.
* Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and adapting learning materials to cater to diverse educational needs.
* Upholding positive behaviour principles and cultivating a stimulating, respectful, and productive classroom atmosphere.
* Fostering robust partnerships with teaching colleagues, the SENCo, and other support professionals to enhance pupil outcomes.
What We Require: Essential Credentials & Capabilities
To thrive in this influential role, you will possess:
* A valid Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification is mandatory.
* A solid background of effective practice as an HLTA or a seasoned Senior Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
* A proven ability to manage classroom dynamics with confidence and lead learning sessions independently.
* Comprehensive understanding of the primary curriculum and a repertoire of effective pedagogical approaches.
* The capacity to devise and execute stimulating learning activities.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with pupils, staff, and parents.
* A current enhanced DBS check, or a readiness to apply for one.
