Overview
Our client is seeking a Systems Accountant to play a pivotal role in managing and optimising their financial systems. This position will be central to the implementation of a new finance system, ensuring seamless integration, compliance with accounting standards, and driving financial excellence across the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design, development, and optimisation of financial systems to meet evolving business needs.
* Oversee the implementation of a new financial system, ensuring smooth integration and user adoption.
* Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate system efficiency and effectiveness.
* Streamline and automate accounting processes to improve accuracy and reduce errors.
* Identify and mitigate risks related to system changes, ensuring data security and compliance.
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain high-quality financial records.
* Deliver insightful reporting and analysis to support decision-making at Executive level.
* Work closely with stakeholders, including software providers and public sector bodies, to enhance financial processes and resilience.
Skills & Experience
* A recognised professional accounting qualification (CCAB or equivalent).
* Strong expertise in financial systems, including integration and optimisation of advanced financial technologies.
* Proven experience in planning and delivering financial systems development projects.
* Ability to make autonomous, well-informed decisions on system enhancements and innovations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex financial and system challenges.
* Experience in risk assessment, project management, and compliance with financial regulations.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
* Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams.
* Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
