Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our lead engineering business.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will take a lead in the end-to-end technical support and enablement of production. This accountability stretches from new product/project introduction, documentation creation, shop floor support and enablement, CI projects and driving innovation and development of the industrial system.
This role is essential in developing, optimizing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes that ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the business, building and maintaining positive working relationships to support the delivery of commitments.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will use their experience and can-do attitude to support other members of the technical team and develop new talent coming through the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership to all areas of the business requiring advice and guidance on manufacturing solutions.
* Support other members of the technical team with advice and guidance, ensuring overall delivery of commitments.
* Balance the tactical needs of production with strategic initiatives, ensuring the necessary balance is maintained.
* Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge or product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
* Improve manufacturing processes by analysing and planning workflow
* Capital project justifications from concept through to implementation and commissioning.
* Coordinate and implement Manufacturing Projects.
* Assist with the generation, and implementation of manufacturing instructions.
* Support the development of lean philosophy, 5’s & TPM throughout the plant.
* Effectively conducting and participating in PFMEA’s.
* Support to supply chain on managing external contractors and equipment vendors, offering technical advice and project drive.
* Create individual project plans in line with manufacturing solutions and be a part of contract reviews.
* Experience and competent to use, identify and order appropriate measuring and inspection equipment for all areas of manufacturing.
* Experience with modifying moulds when manufacturing problems occur and creating tooling as required to manufacture existing and new products.
* Analyse and review NCR data impacting production and implement actions.
* Support team leaders and the quality department, on open NCR’s and push continuous improvement.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications
* HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
Experience
Experience of successfully working within an engineering focused environment which incorporated elements of
* Operating in a lean environment
* Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality system
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Proven experience in leading projects
* Proven experience in leading lean and root cause analysis
* Experience of deploying a new ERP/MES system would be advantageous
