We’ve already delivered a £45m pathfinder programme and are now scaling up to a £1.5bn initiative over the next decade. This is your chance to join the taskforce’s technical team, solving complex problems, and see your insights shape one of the most critical environmental programmes in the country.We’re excited to announce a brand-new opportunity to join our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force as a **SuDS Designer.****About the role**The key purpose of the role is to provide technical input, design guidance and oversight of the SuDS design and construction process. Making decisions and recommendations that are recognised as authoritative and have an important impact on engineering design activities. In the majority of cases, the role holder will have the final input on the design to be constructed.**What you will be responsible for:*** Oversee the design of any SuDS interventions which are required as part of the spills reduction programme. Provide input, challenge, steer, and governance to ensure we design and deliver functional and effective SuDS schemes.* Represent Southern Water on industry bodies/forums and in collaboration with other water companies, on matters relating to SuDS.**What you’ll bring to the role:*** Strong understanding of UK drainage regulations, planning frameworks and environmental standards.* Experience of SuDS design and familiarity with industry standard software packages* MEng/BEng/BSc or HND/HNC in an Engineering, Environmental or numerate science related subject.* Very good communication and presentation skills. High level ability to present & articulate technical ideas and arguments to both technical experts and lay people.
