Job Description: Network and Security Engineer

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Operations, the Network and Security Engineer supports Telent’s transformational programs and service improvements by designing, implementing, and supporting critical ICT systems. This role requires hybrid working with occasional office attendance.
What You’ll Do:
* Serve as a design authority for Telent’s Corporate Enterprise network, producing and reviewing technical documentation and network schematics.
* Design, deploy, and support network and security solutions using Cisco platforms such as SDA and SD-WAN.
* Provide technical support and resolve network incidents efficiently.
* Maintain security posture through centralized authentication (ISE), Cisco Umbrella, and FTD/ASA firewalls.
* Manage BAU activities including software upgrades and certificate management.
* Utilize monitoring platforms like Cisco ThousandEyes and Catalyst Centre.
* Manage relationships with third-party network support providers.
* Oversee vendor contracts and licenses to ensure infrastructure support and maintenance.
* Support the development of Security Architectures/Strategies within broader Enterprise and IS/IT Architectures.
* Evaluate emerging technologies and develop proof-of-value environments.
* Identify and mitigate technology and service risks.
* Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rota (one week per month).
Who You Are:
We welcome applicants with experience in designing, managing, or supporting enterprise networks. A CCNP certification and a passion for technology are encouraged.
Key Requirements:
* CCNP Security or CCNP Enterprise Infrastructure certification
* Experience with enterprise security technologies such as ISE, 802.1x, VPNs, and firewall/certificate management
* Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Solutions
* Familiarity with SD-WAN and Software Defined Access technologies
* Awareness of current IT trends
* Ability to manage network incidents and communicate effectively during outages
* Full UK driving license and willingness for on-call support
