Overview
The company is a leading UK provider of off‑grid energy solutions with over 40 years' experience supporting commercial and domestic customers. With strong technical engineering capability and a growing portfolio that supports the energy transition to lower‑carbon solutions, the company designs, builds, installs, and maintains LPG/LNG infrastructure nationwide. This role sits within the Inspection & Maintenance (I&M) team and covers the full lifecycle of hazardous‑area electrical works: installing, inspecting, and maintaining customer and internal sites across the UK.
Package
* Basic salary: £50,500 with overtime on top
* Hours: 40 per week
* Travel paid: Door‑to‑door
* Holidays: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, plus a holiday purchase scheme (up to 5 additional days)
* Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for hours worked over 40 per week
* Stop‑out allowance: £30 per night plus accommodation paid
* Location/Travel: Staveley (Derbyshire) manufacturing facility with UK‑wide travel as required
* Flexibility: Flexible working arrangements considered where possible
Responsibilities
* Build bespoke LPG refuelling stations
* Install new customer LPG/LNG plants across the UK to required standards and timelines.
* Conduct electrical inspections and rectification works on customer installations nationwide.
* Deliver electrical inspections, rectification, and full plant upgrades on internal sites.
* Assemble off‑site electrical packages such as LPG vaporisers, pump skids, and packaged boiler houses.
Requirements
* Minimum 4 years' experience with hazardous‑area electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance.
* Background in the petrochemical/energy sector, preferably gas environments and live operational sites.
* Approved electrician with an accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Gold Card or above).
* COMPEX Ex01-Ex04 or IECEx CoPC Ex001-Ex008.
* City & Guilds 2391 / 2391‑52 (or 2394 & 2395) - Inspection & Testing.
* City & Guilds 2382‑22 - 18th Edition (BS7671:2018).
* CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS (or equivalent) safety passport; physically fit for demanding environments.
* Proficient in installing IECEx/ATEX‑rated equipment (motors, control stations, JB's, lighting) and in metal containment systems (trunking, conduit, tray), SWA cabling/glanding, and LV distribution.
* Strong ability to interpret schematic, loop, P&ID, and zoning drawings; good control systems fault‑finding skills.
* IT‑literate (Microsoft Excel & Office) with clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Desirable: familiarity with NICEIC reporting/certification; IPAF & PASMA.
