This role:
We are looking for a Design Manager to join our growing team. This will be someone who challenges what we do daily and thrives working in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines, helping us build for the future.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead and scale the design function, aligning delivery with commercial, programme, and client priorities
* Oversee development of concept scheme designs, ensuring alignment with Sinewave requirements and strategy
* Oversee the production of schematic diagrams from basic philosophy or engineer’s sketches
* Complete audits and input into quality assurance on new and existing facilities to ensure installations are in line with both the design intent and best practices
* Lead the design team in verification, validation, and certification of designs
* Own performance, capability, and development of the design team, driving accountability and growth
* Act as key stakeholder with commercial, translating technical design into scope, risk, and value
* Manage design registers and design submissions, acting as reference/escalation point for queries from IDNO/DNO
* Manage design data and records in line with ISO requirements
* Ensure proper engineering rigour on Designs for safety for LV‑33KV projects
* Drive continuous improvement of design governance, processes, and delivery efficiency

Requirements
You’ll have a proven track record of:
* Proficient use of productivity and collaboration software such as Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint across multiple platforms
* Excellent communication, including the ability to adapt communication styles and outstanding listening skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated initiative and ability to work collaboratively
* Confidence in developing high‑standard designs with creativity and initiative
* Excellent attention to detail, maintained under pressure and a fast‑paced environment
* Planning activities and managing execution of associated designs
* A proactive approach to solving challenging design issues
* Accurate carry‑out of voltage drop, cable, and earthing calculations as needed
* Knowledge and understanding of OEM/switchgear
You’ll be a successful Design Manager at Sinewave if you’re
* Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or construction engineering, or have comparable demonstrable experience
* Possess a full driving licence (maximum of 3 points)
* Demonstrated experience in implementing design strategies
* Demonstrated experience in managing a small to medium design team
* Experience working with a DNO/IDNO
* Experience with G81 requirements
* Relevant BSEN/ISO technical standards for cables/earthing
* Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes, including anti‑bribery and ISO‑aligned Environmental and Quality Management System requirements
