Role Overview:
You will play a pivotal role in our mission-driven team, providing comprehensive legal services to vulnerable individuals. Reporting directly to the Panel Deputy, you will engage in a wide array of legal tasks that have a direct impact on our clients' lives and the broader community. This role demands a high level of responsibility, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for contributing to a community-focused legal service.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently manage a caseload involving pro-bono Court of Protection matters, working under the direction of the appointed deputy.
* Act as a supportive figure to safeguard and manage the financial and welfare interests of clients.
* Contribute to our mission of empowering third-sector organisations by providing essential training and support.
* Assist in establishing Lasting Powers of Attorney for clients, ensuring their future is well-planned and secure, under the guidance of the appointed deputy.
Person Specification
* Qualified Solicitor or Paralegal with COP Experience
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in legal research and ability to manage a diverse caseload with attention to detail.
* Empathy and understanding of clients' circumstances, strong problem-solving skills, and resilience under pressure.
* Commitment to abide by the professional deputy standards and comply with any regulatory requirements as set by the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) and the OPG (Office of the Public Guardian).
* Driving licence
* Experience in Court of Protection cases, the charitable sector, or grant applications.
* Proficiency in Welsh.
