Job Description
An established UK engineering and project delivery business is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to support the safe, compliant delivery of installation, refurbishment and maintenance works across construction projects and live operational environments.
This role offers a hybrid working model, combining office presence, home working and regular UK site visits (around 2-3 per month). You will work closely with operational leadership, project teams, contractors and clients to embed strong health & safety standards across a varied project portfolio.
Location & Working Pattern
* Office based in Greater Manchester (2 days per week)
* Remote working (3 days per week)
* UK travel to project sites and meetings (2-3 Per Month)
Salary & Benefits
* £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities
* Promote a positive and proactive health & safety culture across all site activities
* Ensure compliance with UK legislation including the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and CDM Regulations 2015
* Support the development, implementation and ongoing review of H&S policies and procedures
* Liaise with Principal Contractors, clients and consultants on health & safety matters
* Prepare, review and update RAMS
* Identify hazards associated with live construction and maintenance environments
* Ensure appropriate control measures are implemented and followed on site
* Conduct regular site inspections and internal audits
* Report findings, track actions and monitor corrective and preventative measures
* Support external audits and inspections by clients or enforcing authorities
* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses
* Maintain accurate accident records and support RIDDOR reporting where required
* Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings
* Identify training needs and support workforce competence
* Engage operatives and supervisors in safety discussions and behavioural safety initiatives
You will need
* Previous experience within the construction sector
* A recognised Health and Safety qualification
* Comfortable working across live environments and operational sites
* Confident engaging with contractors, site teams and senior stakeholders
* Organised, practical and able to work autonomously
