This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team and play a vital role in our clients mission to create a more sustainable future through smarter, greener infrastructure.
Based in Leiston, East Anglia, this position offers the chance to work on a major infrastructure project featuring a wide variety of works including groundworks, civils, drainage, pavements, and building construction with structural concrete, steelwork, ductile iron pipework, and racking systems. Its a challenging, rewarding and career-defining role for an experienced commercial professional.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide commercial leadership across the contract to maximise profitability and minimise risk.
* Line manage and mentor a team of commercial professionals, driving performance and professional development.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
* Support budget development, forecasting, and cost control to meet financial and project objectives.
* Lead weekly and monthly cost-value reconciliations for accurate financial reporting.
* Manage cash flow effectively by capturing income and controlling work-in-progress.
* Identify, evaluate, and manage contract variations in line with contractual requirements.
* Procure and administer subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company and project procedures.
About You
Our client is looking for a proactive and collaborative Senior Quantity Surveyor who can combine technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. Youll bring:
* Significant commercial experience within a contracting environment.
* Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver successful outcomes.
* A deep understanding of construction processes and contract law.
* Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail under pressure.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A positive, can-do attitude and commitment to achieving excellence.
Experience with ECC NEC3 Option B and CESMM4 is preferred, along with a proven track record of subcontract procurement and contract administration.
