Senior Product Designer
Job Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm & Friday 8am - 4pm

We are currently looking to recruit for a Senior Product Designer a renowned company who design, manufacture and supply high quality homeware products to both the B2C & B2B market.
You will be responsible for designing and developing products from initial concept through to final prototypes for their prestigious customer and their own range. You will have at least 5 years’ experience working within a 3D design-based industry, advanced 2D and 3D skills and manufacturing awareness.
Working within a supportive, creative and friendly team, you will be;
* Undertaking conceptualisation and design development of new products and concepts
* Responsible for planning and executing design projects based on given briefs and schedules.
* Ensuring designs match briefs in all aspects of form, aesthetics, technical quality and costing.
* Working closely with account managers supporting them in developing and presenting the correct products to their customers
* Accompanying customers and account managers on product development / buying trips to the Far East
* Bringing fresh and innovative ideas at each phase of design development
* Working closely with the in-house design studio and other areas of the business to deliver projects
* Creating engaging visual customer product presentations
* Determining materials, construction, colour and surface finishes
* Liaising directly with overseas manufacturing partners, using existing developed products and components where necessary to reduce development lead times and increase speed to market
The successful applicant will possess;
* MA or BA in Industrial Design or Product Design is essential
* Ideally 5 years’ experience in a 3D design-based Industry
* Working knowledge and experience in the use of Adobe Photoshop, illustrator & InDesign
* Excellent hand drawing / sketching 2D visualisation skills
* Experienced in any of the following design software and techniques in both 2D and 3D: Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Creo, Rhino, 3DsMax
* The ability to visualise designs as 3D models & mock up’s using the in-house design workshop
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate these into a usable format for manufacturing
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with rendering packages such as Key Shot is an advantage but is not essential
