About You / About the Job
This post involves responsibility for the establishment in the absence of the Registered Manager and supporting day-to-day running. Ensure regulatory requirements are met through the Statement of Purpose and that it is implemented, evaluated and reviewed within appropriate timescales. The Deputy Manager will be part of the Senior Management Team with lead responsibility for management, support and direction of the service.
Responsibilities
* Maintain high-quality relationships between residents and staff and ensure engagement remains positive
* Provide leadership, guidance and management with a clear direction aligned to the aims of the service and organisation
* Work with the Registered Manager to recruit suitably qualified staff in line with policy and standards
* Ensure staff implement policy, monitor performance, and maintain clear audit trails
* Maintain high standards of care and flexible service delivery to meet individual resident needs; participate in audits and reviews
* Develop links between the home and the local community
* Develop and monitor individual care, learning/recreational plans in line with each resident’s needs and EHC plans
* Maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, staff, and other professionals
Qualifications, skills or experience
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
* At least 2 years of significant management/supervisory experience in a care setting within the past 5 years
* At least 4 years of experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or special needs
* Knowledge of management practices, employment law, health and safety, and anti-discrimination
* Knowledge of learning disabilities and person-centred planning
* Familiarity with Quality Standards, statutory regulations and inspection processes
* Ability to work punctually and reliably, including nights, evenings and weekends as required
* Ability to undertake on-call duties and reach the establishment promptly
* Clean, current driving licence
