When we come together – where every voice is heard and everyone knows they belong and matter – we create solutions that launch people into space, support lifesaving care in hospitals, and enable the construction of groundbreaking, world scale production facilities.Reimagine What’s PossibleThe Engineering Co-ordinator plays a critical role within the Maintenance Services Organisation, acting as a technical authority and providing expert guidance across both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.This role ensures all legally required inspections are completed within regulatory timeframes, manages complex escalations, and offers advanced technical support to customers and internal teams. Responsibilities include remote fault diagnosis, technical validation of work orders, and ensuring the correct resources and materials are identified for safe and efficient maintenance operations.The Engineering Co-ordinator provides technical oversight and coordination for maintenance and fault resolution across a wide range of equipment and installations, including:Cryogenic tanks and associated equipmentMedical gas panelsGGG plantsPackaged Gas Depots (including dual-brand operations)Food tunnelsHydrogen refuelling stationsGaseous hydrogen systemsThe role also supports spare parts management by reviewing and approving technical specifications for new and replacement components. Additionally, the Specialist contributes to the development of the wider Customer Engineering Technical Support Team through training and mentoring.Principal AccountabilitiesFully engage in BSP Activity, including:Attendance at BSP LIII Sequential Safety MeetingsCompletion of daily and monthly Office BSP Work Team tasksManage and process all validated work orders, ensuring timely completion of planned and curative maintenanceConduct technical reviews and assign appropriate parts and labour for safe and effective onsite workAct as escalation point for complex technical issues raised by the Technical Support DepartmentProvide frontline technical support, including remote diagnosis of faults across a broad range of equipment and installation typesOversee communications with customers regarding planning, site access, and job readinessEnsure all work is supported by appropriate risk assessments and method statementsPrepare RAMS for customer-specific onsite activitiesCoordinate P&ID updates when installation modifications requirePrepare and submit requests for extensions to legal inspections in line with PSSR 2000 and Air Products standardsMonitor and respond to alarms on medical oxygen panels and other critical systemsManage SAP service orders for onsite activities, triggered by planned work, customer contact, escalations, and system monitoringLiaise with contractors and suppliers for onsite works and procurement of materialsProvide quotations for onsite activities where requiredOffer technical assistance for selection of new and replacement partsSupport internal training and development initiatives across technical operationsParticipate in on‑call and out‑of‑hours activities for urgent work orders related to safety, business-critical needs, or customer complaintsPerform any other reasonable tasks as requested by managementMinimum Requirements and QualificationsHigher education or a vocational qualification in a technical field is desirableEquivalent experience-based knowledge will also be consideredStrong general education with Mathematics and English at Grade C or aboveStrong technical understanding of industrial gas systems (essential)Good geographical awarenessProficient IT skills, including SAP, Microsoft Office, ServiceMax, Vantage, equipment monitoring tools (e.g., APST, ANOVA), and event management systemsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work under pressure and manage competing prioritiesProven technical authority with experience handling escalationsStrong organisational and prioritisation skills in a high‑volume, fast-paced environmentProactive, solutions-oriented mindset with focus on continuous improvementCalm and effective under pressure, with strong decision-making capabilitiesExperience using SAP ERP (SD module preferred) and ServiceMax for work order managementProficient use of Microsoft Office Suite for planning and communicationIn-depth geographical knowledge of the UK & IrelandFounded in 1940, Air Products is a world-leading industrial gases company and has a proud history of innovation, operational excellence, with an unwavering commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
