Role Responsibilities
1. To support the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience and behaviour management within The Olive Frances School
2. Work with members of the education team to support young people’s personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning
3. To promote positive learning behaviour with young people
4. To lead classes during PPA and absence cover, the planning will be supported by teaching staff.
5. To deliver an enrichment golden time activity
6. To support in lessons with academic understanding or pastoral, emotional or behavioural need
7. To respond to immediate concerns clarifying the situation
8. To create and collate information relating to lessons and interventions delivered
9. To assist in the preparation of information relevant to the meetings about pupils
10. To be an advocate for the ethos of the school
11. To lead on reading and phonics – reviewing progress made by young people
12. To develop the role of Pupil Voice Liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council
13. To develop relationships with parents/carers, taking an active role in transitions and consultation visits
Requirements
14. Have a strong basic education, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
15. Previous experience in a similar role,, HLTA
16. Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting
17. Be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school,, Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes, School Yoga etc.
18. Experience of behaviour management and techniques
19. Committed to professional development and willing to learn
