JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Corpach, Fort William
Salary: Basic hourly rate of £15.54 plus an overtime rate of £18.40 per hour.
Job type: Full- time, permanent. Working 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Travel and overnight stays will be required for this role.
About the role:
The successful applicant will assist with the general operation, maintenance and repair of all Company Premises. In addition to assisting our welding & fabrication team with steel, aluminium and TIG welding.
This is a full time, permanent role with working hours of 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Predominantly based in Corpach, Fort William – however travel and overnight stays are required as part of this role.
About you:
1. Car drivers licence is essential
2. Appropriate welding / fabrication certification
3. Previous forklift experience (certification is an advantage, however training will be provided)
4. Ability to work as a team member as well as on own initiative
5. Ability to adhere to H&S requirements at all times
6. Excellent attention to detail
7. Good communication skills
Main Responsibilities:
8. Operate forklifts and any plant/machinery
9. Using a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorches, forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment
10. Assisting the Welding/Fabrication team and carrying out welding/fabrication work when required – including steel, aluminum and TIG welding
11. Assisting with and welding project work (including design and measurement)
12. General housekeeping duties in various sites – including but not limited to tidying, sweeping, salting walkways/paths, emptying bins etc.
13. Assisting with project work as directed by Line Management
14. Cleaning and preparing job sites
15. Loading, unloading and delivering of materials and stock as required
16. Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures
17. Working from other depots, including Kishorn and Company vessels
18. Ensure daily checks are carried out on all plant and machinery prior to use, following the defect reporting procedure at all times
19. Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner
Complete all necessary paperwork relating to tasks carried out
