SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Wigan

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Dependent on experience
A friendly and forward-thinking primary school in the WN3 area of Wigan is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant from September 2025. This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.
The Role:
* Provide personalised 1:1 support in class and during small group work.
* Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs.
* Encourage independence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support.
We’re looking for someone with:
* Experience working with children with SEND (in school or similar settings).
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine commitment to supporting every child to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
