Job Description: We are looking for a Systems Safety & Reliability Engineer Placement Student to join our Team, in Filton. System Safety and Reliability within the UK works predominantly on the Landing Gear and Fuel systems and supports aircraft level Systems, Manufacturing and Structures Engineering teams. Our team works on all Aircraft and projects throughout the development lifecycle, from R&T projects to Flight Test campaigns, through to Entry Into Service and continued airworthiness of the full Airbus Aircraft fleet.
Key areas of work
* Functional Safety – System Safety Assessment, analysing the Aircraft Systems to identify Failure Modes and assist the Design Office to ensure compliance.
* Continued Airworthiness – Provide Safety Assessments for in-service occurrences on all Airbus Commercial Aircrafts for the Fuel & Inerting and Landing Gear Systems.
* Particular Risk Analysis (PRA) – Cover two primary PRAs within the UK (Wheel and Tyre Failure and Fuel Tank Safety), both with a global Aircraft impact and significant overall Aircraft Design Drivers.
* Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA) – Inspect new designs and modifications both digitally and physically to ensure compliance to Design and Safety Requirements. Tasks involve a broad knowledge of system architectures, behaviours and a good understanding of system installation; you will be supported to learn these technical and safety specifics.
Qualifications and eligibility
For this role we need candidates who are studying towards a degree related to Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering. Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.
