Your role in the team
As a Paralegal, you will work within Client Legal Services supporting attorneys to manage Personal Injury Litigation Claims for Allstate Insured customers. In this role, you will prepare legal documentation, coordinate discovery, and ensure compliance with state‑specific legal procedures with limited attorney supervision. You will act as a key liaison between attorneys, Claims, outside Counsel, Courts, and third parties to proactively support efficient case progression and resolution.
Key responsibilities
* Liaise with attorneys in order to progress cases to settlement or trial
* Liaise with clients regarding documentation and case updates via electronic mail and/or telephone calls
* Manage your own caseload requiring proactive organization and prioritization to meet deadlines
* Gather, collate, and serve outgoing discovery
* Review incoming mail and discovery documentation
* Draft, e‑file and serve pleadings
* Prepare legal documentation and correspondence for document production tasks
* Instruction of agencies and experts
* Use case management system, Microsoft Office, and other required software applications
* Analyze and review documentation and case status to independently determine further requirements within cases
* Review and recover damages and/or expenses
* Participate in specialist projects on an ad‑hoc basis
Essential Skills
* Must have legal right to work in the UK; Allstate does not sponsor for this vacancy.
* A relevant legal undergraduate or postgraduate degree or paralegal qualification with a minimum of 6 months experience in a paralegal or similar legal support role;
* OR a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a legal support role within personal injury;
* OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a legal support role outside of personal injury;
* OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the insurance claims industry.
Desirable Skills
* Experience using case management systems and other software packages
* Experience working in defense personal injury litigation
* Experience working within the insurance industry
* Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, innovative environment
* Experience in an international organization
* Experience working in a hybrid role using online meeting applications
* Previous experience within US business or jurisdiction
* 2.1 or above in law‑related undergraduate degree
* Relevant postgraduate qualification
