About the Role: As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons that support early literacy, numeracy, and personal development. You will guide your pupils through a crucial stage of their learning journey with structure, care, and enthusiasm. Working closely with teaching assistants and senior leaders, you will ensure that every child feels included, respected, and challenged at their own level. Primary Class Teacher – Year 1 Responsibilities: Plan and deliver effective, inclusive lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum Monitor and assess pupil progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment Collaborate with teaching assistants and SENCOs to meet individual pupil needs Manage classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies Engage in whole-school initiatives and events as appropriate Ensure safeguarding and welfare of pupils at all times Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil reports Year 1 Class Teacher Candidate Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is essential Recent experience teaching in a UK primary school, preferably in Key Stage 1 A creative, reflective, and child-centred approach to teaching Understanding of phonics, early years development, and national curriculum standards Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) If you strive to work in a values-based setting that encourages creativity, kindness, and community.
