Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, Ongoing
Do you speak sign?
We’re looking for a brilliant BSL-trained Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school in Stockton. If you’re passionate about accessible communication and creating a classroom where every voice is heard—whether spoken or signed—this could be the perfect next step.
Why you’ll love this role:
* You’ll support a pupil with hearing loss, using your British Sign Language skills to make learning engaging and inclusive.
* You’ll help create a calm, confident learning environment—and yes, your knack for staying cool when things get tricky will come in handy.
* You’ll work closely with a friendly team who really value the impact of support staff (because we know you’re the glue that holds the classroom together).
What we’re looking for:
* BSL Level 2 minimum (if you’ve got Level 3 or are working towards it, even better!)
* A natural communicator—whether you’re explaining fractions or navigating tricky conversations with parents
* Someone who brings calm, confidence, and a real love of helping students thrive
Extra kudos if:
* You’ve had any experience with Deaf Blind Sign Language or American Sign Language
* You’ve done some tutoring, dance teaching, or worked in roles that show leadership and patience
* You’ve got a full driving licence and can travel locally
What’s in it for you?
* Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella deductions here)
* FREE access to our online CPD Academy
* A friendly, local consultant who listens and supports you all the way
* Thrive training opportunities—want to boost your emotional support skills? We’ll help you get qualified (for free)
