Defendant Large Loss/Multi-Track Personal Injury Fee Earner
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a specialist legal
firm in their Defendant Large Loss Team dealing with a mixture of Intermediate Track and Defendant Multi-Track RTA cases. We are looking for an experienced Solicitor/CFILEX/Fee Earner who is familiar with dealing with Defendant multi-track personal injury cases, pre-litigation and litigation.
OCL Solicitors is a rapidly expanding law firm dealing largely in Road Traffic Accident Litigation for both Claimant and Defendant and has excellent career progression.
The Defendant team also won 'Defendant Team of the Year' at the Personal Injury Awards 2023.
Job Description
As a Fee Earner you
will run your own caseload of Defendant Intermediate and Multi-Track personal injury cases, under supervision from management to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for the insurer client.
The main duties will include:
* Running your own caseload
* Assist in running a case from letter of claim stage right through to settlement or Trial
* For pre-litigation ideal if you have experience with INA's and Case Managers
* Dealing with claims that have started life in the MOJ Portal which turn into Multi-Track cases and have been dropped from the process
* Ability to manage an Insurer Client well, keep them updated and informed when needed
* Obtaining all early evidence and statements, in support of liability if required
* Instructing medical experts and reviewing and obtaining any further medical evidence
* Assessing Quantum
* Preparing and Drafting Court Proceedings and other Court documents
* Instructing Counsel
* Ability to work well within a team
Place of Work and Hours
The Defendant Large Loss team works on a hybrid rota whereby we are in the office in Doncaster on a Thursday, Friday and Monday bi-weekly and then one Friday a month. The rest of the time is working from home with full equipment provided. Full time hours are a 37.5 hour week. There is some flexibility to this but needs to suit business needs and the hybrid rota is not a guarantee.
