OCU Group is seeking a Plant & Transport Controller to join our team at the Huntly site. This role involves managing the operation, maintenance, and utilization of utilities/construction plant machinery and transportation vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a focus on health and safety compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage the company's fleet of construction plant machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
* Oversee plant assets going on and off hire, report faults, and assist the main P&T team.
* Monitor utilization of machinery and vehicles to optimize efficiency.
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance and inspection procedures.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
* Control costs related to plant and transportation operations.
* Prepare reports on equipment usage, maintenance, safety incidents, and compliance.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in plant and transport management within the utilities industry.
* Technical knowledge of construction plant machinery and vehicles.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software.
* Valid driver’s license; relevant certifications (e.g., CPCS, CPC) may be required.
* Ability to fit and remove vehicle tracking systems (training provided).
